Shaivo polls are bogus

I'm sick and tired of seeing all of these "polls" asking whether the gov't or the family should decide these things.

In logic we call this a "false dichotomy." Look it up! Google it! Its faulty logic on its face.

The proper poll question should go something like this:

Who should be allowed to starve someone to death:
a) the government
b) the family
c) no one, because starving someone is bad!

How's that?

Britney offers some sage advice

Yeah! You heard me!

Man I really hate it when I agree with the likes of Britney Spears, but I think she nailed it.

That's exactly what the boy needs - to become a man!

NAE pushed my buttons

Here's a letter I recently sent to the NAE (that's National Association of Evangelicals for those of you going to hell). What were they thinking?

Rev. Cizik and Rev. Haggard,

I'm writing you out of my great concern for your recent public statements on the Evangelical Church and Global Warming. I am an Evangelical, and a member of Fellowship Alliance Chapel, in Medford, NJ (C&MA).

I read your comments in the New York Times online article, posted by the Herald Tribune, here: http://www.heraldtribune.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20050310/ZNYT02/503100853

What I want to know is if you've read your Bible regarding global warming?

Ge 8:22 "While the earth remains, Seedtime and harvest, And cold and heat, And summer and winter, And day and night Shall not cease."

Do Evangelicals still believe in the authority and inerrency of Scripture?

I'm not a disbeliever in global warming, as a rule. I have serious doubts that global warming is in any way connected to human activity. What I am, however, is a great disbeliever that God will allow it to be cataclysmic. He's promised that this will not happen. Do you believe this? If so, why would you align yourselves with those with whom on so many social and world-view issues we disagree?

I find this position of yours greatly disheartening, and quite frankly, unbiblical. And, I'm sad to say that it sullies the reputation of the NAE in my mind. I have always had a great deal of respect for this organization, but I'm afraid I will now look on anything you do with suspicion from here on.

Please address this scripture, and give your exegesis, if you read it differently (as if that were possible).

BTW, my wife said I was not too loving. I don't know. I get my hackles up when supposed bible-believing Christians ignore black and white statements in scripture.

Italian communist takes a bullet ... yawn.

This Italian info-babe that got shot in Iraq... she writes for the publication Il Manifesto, paper of the Italian Communist Party.

Oh, and did I mention she's against the war?

Oh, and did I mention that the Italian government didn't tell us they were paying the ransom, and we didn't know they were "whisking her away to safety?"

How do you say, "Stop or I'll shoot, in Italian?"

I guess we ARE targeting journalists after all.

But, what's this world coming to when you can't even shoot a self-avowed communist who's charging your checkpoint at a high rate of speed? Its pandemonium I tell you!
