BBC NEWS | Health | Doctors' kitchen knives ban call

Okay, now! Hold on!

The UK is home to some of the most pervasive and suffocating gun-control laws in the world. They have laws that would make the residents of D.C. pine for the days of the Washington Bullets.

Those of us on the side of sanity (better known as the Second Amendment) have been saying its not the guns. So here we have ample evidence that its NOT THE GUNS! The Limey Liberals take away all the guns and what is the result? A nirvana of peace and cooperation? A citadel of love and true community? A haven for the oppressed and downtrodden?

No, you have people stabbing each other with knives instead.

Hmmmm. What could be wrong here? Is it something in the water? The air? The meat pies?

This is the fundamental problem with Liberalism, and it goes back to the Horace Greeley: they don't understand, or refuse to acknowledge human nature. Its not that people are evil, they are just led astray by (take your pick) guns, corporations, talk radio, the military-industrial complex, ... The Soviets really aren't bad, they just don't trust us (30 million dead in the gulags). The terrorists were driven to it because of our foreign policy.

Come to think of it, the only "bad" people to liberals are those of us who aren't liberals. Tom DeLay, Robert Bork, Trent Lott, Newt Gingrich, John Ashcroft, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, George W. Bush, and the list goes on. These are the REAL evil people (if evil really existed ... which it doesn't ... except for them).

Take away my guns and I can't defend myself from the guy with the knife. So my favorite quote from this article is here:
"The Home Office is looking for ways to reduce knife crime.

"We suggest that banning the sale of long pointed knives is a sensible and practical measure that would have this effect."

My only question for the Home Office is, "What about pointed sticks?"

HoustonChronicle.com - DeLay probe prosecutor raises funds for Democrats

Yeah, no conflict of interests here!

Hey there, Mr. Earle! I have a word for you:

Main Entry: re·cuse
Pronunciation: ri-'kyüz
Function: transitive verb
Inflected Form(s): re·cused; re·cus·ing
Etymology: Middle English, to refuse, from Middle French recuser, from Latin recusare
: to disqualify (oneself) as judge in a particular case; broadly : to remove (oneself) from participation to avoid a conflict of interest

Newsweek ... uh, yeah, so what.

I haven't blogged in a while, but now I'm inspired again.

So, Newsweek screwed up. But historically, they always screw up. Its just that this time, there were some pretty nasty indirect consequences.

Actually I agree with Michael Smirconish (sp?), local Philly radio host, when he says that its not the fault of Newsweek that the riots happened. Those monsters would find ANY reason to kill people. They're brutal murderers. Who cares if THIS TIME it was an inaccurate news piece by Newsweek? What if it was accurate? They're still a bunch of brutal murderers.

I have to endure constant blasphemy of MY God at the hands of the same media. Just watch any prime-time TV show and see how many times His name is taken in vain in 30 minutes.

Then I heard Fred Barnes (or was it Mort Kondracke?) explain that in Islam the Quran is the embodiment of Allah, and that Christianity doesn't have any equivalent. Well that's just wrong. Jesus was the "Word of God." That's not an unintentional transliteration or anything. That's exactly what it says. That's the "logos" in Greek. So, if it was Fred Barnes (who I generally REALLY like) he needs to go back to the drawing board on that one. If it was Mort Kondracke, then he sometimes pushes my buttons anyway, so no big deal.
